THE MIRACLES OF ORGANIC APPLE CIDER VINEGAR-

If you do one thing for your body daily
drink 8oz of water with 2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
or 8 oz  water with fresh squeezed lemon.

Why you ask ?
Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) changes your bodies pH from acid to alkaline.
This may sound like complicated technical mumbo jumbo but do not be scared by it.
Our body is about chemistry on many levels.
Free radical cells ( the altered healthy cells that become bad cells)
cannot live in an alkaline surroundings.
They live in acidic solutions.

So step one in eliminating a good environment for bad cells to thrive in
such as auto immune disease cells
and creating a good environement for healthy cell structure
make sure your body pH ( we will talk about how to test your body pH easily and cheaply)
as well as your mouth is kept at a high alkaline level.

Yes this pH is the same that keeps both your garden soil as well as your pools balanced.
pH is everything to a friendly environment.

Please use organic ACV. Braggs is great . Ive heard good things about Trader Joes if you can find it .
I will be sharing much more on ACV

ENZYMES-A KEY TO CREATING DIGESTIBLE FOOD

High Enzyme Smoothie

Pineapple Orange-Mango-Papaya Smoothie
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup pineapple, chunks
  • 1/2 cup papaya, chunks
  • 1/2 cup mango, chunks
  • 2 cups Greek Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 cup ice cubes
Preparation:
  1. Place the orange juice, pineapple chunks, papaya chunks, mango chunks, Greek yogurt and honey in a blender. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds.
  2. Add the ice and blend until smooth.

Enzymes are proteins used by the body to increase or decrease the speed of chemical reactions. Though there are many different kinds of enzymes, we commonly think of the digestive enzymes because they make it possible for our body to break down and assimilate the foods we eat. A diet rich in enzymes can increase energy and stamina, as well as support weight loss, healthy skin, and overall good health.

Papayas

Papayas are a tropical fruit. They contain large amounts of the enzyme known as papain. A plant-based enzyme, papain is referred to as a cysteine protease or proteolytic enzyme, which refers to the papaya's ability to break the peptide bonds of proteins, hydrolyzing them into smaller units known as amino acids. Eating raw papaya is a good source of this potent digestive and systematic enzyme. Chewable supplements are available in concentrated form.

Pineapples

Raw pineapples contain the enzyme bromelain. Like papain, bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme. Besides contributing to the digestion of proteins, bromelain is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-coagulant. The highest concentration of bromelain is found in the stem of the pineapple, which is edible, though hardly palatable. Some bromelain is found in the pineapple fruit. Those looking to supplement with larger amounts can find a bromelain enzyme supplement at any health food store.

Sprouts

Sprouts are the seeds of many different types of grains. They are packed with nutrients and may contain more than 100 times more enzymes than fruits and vegetables. Sprouts are most concentrated with active enzymes when they are germinated. Germination requires soaking the seeds in water to allow them to sprout. Once activated, the live enzymes are potent health-promoting factors for proper digestion and overall wellness.

Raw Nuts and Seeds

Nature wisely endowed all raw, natural foods with the proper enzymes for digestion. Nuts and seeds contain lipase, the enzyme that breaks down lipids or fats. Triglyceride fats are hydrolyzed to break the ester bonds, creating fatty acids and glycerol. Most fat is digested in the small intestine after bile from the gall bladder breaks large triglycerides into smaller units. The pancreas makes lipase; however, when dietary sources are deficient it puts added strain on this important organ. Roasting nuts and seeds destroys the live enzymes. Eat them raw for a healthy dose of essential enzymes.

Raw Fruits and Vegetables

Just as nuts and seeds contain lipase for fat digestion, fruits and vegetables contain enzymes to break down carbohydrates. Amylase is the main digestive enzyme for carbohydrate metabolism. It is present in our saliva, as digestion truly begins in the mouth. Amylase works to break carbohydrates into simpler sugars that can be used for energy and metabolism. Fruit and vegetable enzymes are devitalized by cooking above 118 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that steaming and microwaving destroys most of the enzymes, making foods harder to digest. Eating raw fruits and vegetables is a healthful way to improve overall digestion.

MISO- A STAPLE FOR 2500 YEARS-

Taking the Mystery out of Miso

Miso is a paste made from soybeans, sea salt, and koji (a mold starter), and often mixed with rice, barley or other grains. The mixture is allowed to ferment for 3 months to 3 years, which produces an enzyme rich foods. The binding agent zybicolin in miso is effective in detoxifying and eliminating elements that are taken into the body through industrial pollution, radioactivity and artificial chemicals in the soil and food system.

Miso has been a staple in Chinese and Japanese diets dating back approximately 2,500 years. Today, most of the Japanese population begins their day with a warm bowl of miso soup believed to stimulate the digestion and energize the body. When purchasing miso, avoid the pasteurized version and spend your money on the live enzyme-rich product, which is also loaded with beneficial microorganisms.

The 10 scientifically researched benefits of eating miso

1. Contains all essential amino acids, making it a complete protein.

2. Stimulates the secretion of digestive fluids in the stomach.

3. Restores beneficial probiotics to the intestines.

4. Aids in the digestion and assimilation of other foods in the intestines.

5. Is a good vegetable-quality source of B vitamins (especially B12).

6. Strengthens the quality of blood and lymph fluid.

7. Reduces risk for breast, prostate, lung and colon cancers.

8. Protects against radiation due to dipilocolonic acid, an alkaloid that chelates heavy metals and discharges them from the body.

9. Strengthens the immune system and helps to lower LDL cholesterol.

10. High in antioxidants that protects against free radicals.

This soup is easy-to-make and combines the medicinal benefits of sea vegetables and miso. Since miso is a living food, boiling it will destroy its beneficial enzymes, which is why the recipe calls for adding it in at the very end. This recipe calls for wakame, which is a thin piece of seaweed that can be found fresh or dried. It's different from nori (the dry, brittle sheets of seaweed used for sushi rolls), but you could also substitute nori if that's what you have on hand. I also added in ginger, mushrooms, and cilantro for extra flavor. This is the perfect soup to battle a cold, fill a hungry belly, or warm you up at the end of a chilly fall day.

Miso Soup with Vegetables
Adapted from
Clean Food: A Seasonal Guide to Eating Close to the Source by Terry Walters.

CHILL'N ON SUMMER DOG DAYS-
What Can You Freeze for Your Dog?
•Vegetables & Fruit - Yep, plain ol' veggies like green beans, squash and sweet potato are fun to freeze and give as a cold treat. Just as fun are icy cool bananas, strawberries ...
and apples.
•Chicken & Beef Broth - This should be a staple in your doggie pantry. It's a great base for great homemade dog treats.
•Fruit Juices - You can use fruit juices for cold treats on a hot day. It's best to use juices that are lower in sugar. For example, look for juices that list "no added sugar".
•Yogurts - Another base ingredient, is plain low fat yogurt. You'll find many ways to mix this into your frozen dog treats.

•Baby Foods - These make a nice addition to a cool snack. Use organic fruit or vegetable blends for added flavor.
Tips & Techniques

•Cupcake Liners - You can use paper liners instead of ice cube trays to freeze treats. Once frozen, let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes. Then simply tear away the paper liner and watch your dog enjoy her treat.
Keep in mind, any time you're warm, your dog most likely is, too. So, when you come back from a long walk, hanging out by the pool or really working up a pant by competing in agility or fly-ball, remember, homemade frozen dog treats are sure to hit the spot.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS ABSOLUTELY MAKE LEMONADE!!!
One of my all time miracle foods is lemons. I have so much to write about the humble lemon! Let me say this;

Most diseases live in an acidic surrounding. Surprisingly lemons, once they hit the body are not acidic, but in fact chemically becomes a FANTASTIC alkaline that cancer and many anti immune diseases cannot thrive in.

If you are a lazy healthy nut or an active one do one simple thing and make plenty of pitchers of fresh lemonade in your fridge. DO NOT USE A MIX with aspartame or saccharine (these cause free radicals /cancer cells) . We are talking FRESH only here!

So drink and give the kids lots of fresh lemonade. So I am covering all bases if the lemons are not organic please soak them in a vinegar water solution for 20 minutes. Then rinse in cold water with a fruit scrub brush if you have one. Once done you can slice and throw all parts of the lemon, rind and all, to make this thirst quencher body healer. Add a little raw honey to sweeten; optional some mashed mint leaves and wallah one super healthy anti bacterial, anti oxidant, anti inflammatory drink.

Think ALKALINE ALKALINE ALKALINE!

1. Lemon being a citrus fruit, fights against infection.

It helps in production of WBC's and antibodies in blood which attacks the invading microorganism and prevents infection.

2. Lemon is an antioxidant which deactivates the free radicals preventing many dangerous diseases like stroke, cardiovascular diseases and cancers.

3. Lemon lowers blood pressure and increases the levels of HDL (good cholesterol) .

4. Lemon is found to be anti-carcinogenic which lower the rates of colon, prostate, and breast cancer.

They prevent faulty metabolism in the cell, which can predispose a cell to becoming carcinogenic.

Also blocks the formation of nitrosamines in the gut.

5. Lemon juice is said to give a glow to the skin.

6. A few drops of lemon juice in hot water are believed to clear the digestive system and purify liver as well.

7. The skin of lemon dried under the sun and then ground to make powder can be applied to the hair for a  few minutes before bath which relieves head ache and cools the body.

8. Applying lemon juice to acne dries the existing ones and prevents from getting more.

9. Lemon juice acts as a natural hair lightner and skin bleach which reduces the pigment melanin and prevents

the risk of chemical allergic reactions which is common with hair dyes and bleaches.

10. Lemon juice is given to relieve gingivitis, stomatitis, and inflammation of the tongue.

11. Lemon juice is given to prevent common cold.

12. Lemon juice is given to prevent or treat urinary tract infection and gonorrhea.

13. Lemon juice is applied to the sites of bites and stings of certain insects to relieve its poison and pain.

thereby prevents many gastro-intestinal tract infections.

TOMATO TOMATO - A simple sauce is chock full of antioxidants!

Saute garlic, onions and chopped tomatoes in a little olive oil or coconut oil.Add fresh basil,a little sea salt , black pepper oregano. Add to freshly cooked spinach  pasta.

1. Take Advantage of Cancer-Fighting Antioxidants

New research suggests that antioxidants taken as pill-form supplements do not provide the same benefits of antioxidants within foods. It is far more beneficial to eat a tomato--you receive a great dose of cancer-fighting antioxidants through this fruit--than to take vitamin A pills. Look to whole foods, including fresh ripe tomatoes, as your primary source of nutrition. You'll stand a much better chance of avoiding cancer this way. Also, since tomato's main carotenoid, lycopene, is fat-soluable, make sure you eat tomatoes with olive oil or other good fat.

2. Fight Heart Disease

Potassium helps prevent high blood pressure and lessens the chance of having heart disease. A single serving of tomatoes--about 1 cup--provides more than 10 percent of your daily nutritional need for potassium. Tomatoes are considered a "very good" source of potassium by the Whole Foods Food Rating System.

3. Promote a Healthy Colon and Prostate

The antioxidant lycopene found in tomatoes is especially successful at fighting against colon and prostate cancers. The combination of the antioxidants as well as the other nutrients in tomatoes work together to provide these incredible benefits. This team also works against breast cancer, and cancer of the lung and pancreas. When tomatoes are in season, eat them daily for a good dose of cancer prevention.

4. Choose Organically Grown, Vine-Ripened Tomatoes

To enjoy the most benefits as well as the most pleasing taste from tomatoes, buy them fresh, organic and vine-ripened whenever possible. Consider growing your own, even if you just have room for a pot on your balcony. Organic tomatoes are grown without chemical fertilizers or harmful sprays, which are potentially dangerous to consume. Ripening them on the vine in the sunshine ensures that they will be packed with nutrients.

5. Reduce Blood Clots and Inflammation

Drink fresh juiced tomato beverages (bottled is second-best) to help with the reduction of blood clots and to help reduce inflammation. The vitamin C and beta-carotene (vitamin A) in tomatoes are excellent antioxidants and they work to eliminate free radicals in the body that contribute to cancer-friendly conditions and painful inflammation. One study showed that people who drank 8 oz. of tomato juice daily showed reduced platelet clumping in their blood. Those who drank a placebo had no such improvement.

DEPRESSION - Nutritional Therapy
Studies suggest that people with depression who eat a healthy diet that includes fatty fish (such as salmon, mackerel, herring, and sardines) two to three times per week may significantly reduce their feelings of depression and anxiety. Fatty fish contain omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), and many individuals with depression are deficient in this substance.
Some studies suggest that dietary supplementation with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), one type of PUFA, may help prevent depression. Diets rich in fruits and vegetables, particularly leafy green vegetables, are also Other supplements that may reduce depression include:
Vitamin B9
Vitamin C
S-Adenosinemethionine (SAMe)
